How can we help you?
Frequently Asked Questions
The What, Where & When
What breed mixes do you have? We specialize in Mini and Medium Goldendoodles and Bernedoodles. In 2024 we will introduce an amazing combination of these two mixes called Golden Mountain Doodles as well as Petite Mini Goldendoodles.
Where are you located? We are located in Sandpoint, Idaho, approximately 2 hours from the Spokane International Airport in Spokane, Washington and only about 45 min from Couer d’ Alene, Idaho.
What are your hours of operation? As an in-home breeder and small business owner, we work 24/7. However, we are typically available between the hours of 9:00 am – 7:00 pm but respond to emails and messages almost 24/7. We are located in the Pacific Standard Time zone. Appointments are required for zoom calls and phone calls, these can be scheduled with us through email or messenger.
Services & Logistics
Do you facetime with parents and puppies? We are unable to FaceTime; however, we will happily do a Zoom or Facebook Messenger video call with you at any time which works in exactly the same manner! Just shoot me a message or email and I’ll be happy to schedule one with you. I usually sit right in the box or pen with the puppies so you can see everything that’s happening!
Do you offer a health guarantee? Absolutely, we offer a 2-year genetic health guarantee against the 200+ genetic conditions that we test our parent dogs for. We mainly use Embark, but in addition, we use Canine Health Check and Pawprint Genetics for our genetic screenings.
Do you Health Test your dogs? Yes, we have had full genetic health panels performed, as well as, coat/color tested all of our breeding dogs, helping us to make the best pairings for healthy and beautiful puppies. Copies of these test results can be provided. We also have Pennhip and/or OFA’s screenings performed on some of our breeding dogs.
Do you deliver or ship? Please inquire by clicking the button below to send us an email to inquire about availability. In addition, we can also assist you with all the tools, tips and advice to successfully pick up your puppy yourself and fly them home. We use Spokane International Airport in Spokane, WA. Also, we can recommend a flight nanny company, Pups on the Fly, that we’ve worked with multiple times to both send and receive puppies.
What do I need to prepare for my puppy’s arrival?
What brand and variety of puppy food do I need to get? We use Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach Salmon Puppy food. You can find it at all major retail pet stores and also usually at most mom and pop shops. If you’re thinking of switching, that’s just fine, but please keep your puppy on the food they’re use to for at least the first two weeks home and then switch them over to the new food very slowly. Going to a new home can be very stressful on a new pup. Stress can cause stomach upset and soft stools. Switching foods can also cause stomach upset. We advise tackling one thing at a time to make the transition into their new home as smooth as possible.
What size crate should I get? We suggest purchasing a Small Size Crate, approximately 24″x18″x19″. They come with one or two doors, metal or plastic. As the pup gets older, they will outgrow this size and need to be moved to a medium/large size. If you want to forgo the smaller size and purchase a bigger one, just make sure it has a divider inside to adjust the available space. You want it big enough for the pup to comfortably move around and sprawl out in, but not so big that there’s enough room for them to sleep on one side and use the other side to go potty.
What else do you suggest we purchase? Some other items that you need to have on hand are;
- Slicker Brush and Metal Comb
- Food & Water dish, I like good old metal. They’re dishwasher safe, doesn’t leach chemicals into the water and they’re cheap!
- Shampoo & Conditioner, puppy specific is great at first, then just get what you like the smell of.
- Detangler, can help release tangles.
- Pin Brush or Wet Brush, great for after baths, it’s gentler on puppy skin.
- Toys that crinkle and squeek
- Anything Kong Brand
- Benebones, appropriate size
- Whimzee Chews
Dew Claws
Do you dock tails and remove dewclaws? The simple answer is no. We leave dew claws and tails intact. However, the not so short answer is they have an important purpose. The front dew claws are attached by two major functioning tendons. The other end of these tendons is a muscle, therefore if you cut off the dew claws, there are major muscle bundles that will become atrophied from disuse. If you would like to learn more, we highly recommend reading the article, “Do the Dew(claws)?”, by M. Christine Zink DVM, PHD, DACVSMR. She discusses the anatomy and important function of the front dew claws.
